Principal's Message

Hello Akron Flyers!

I want to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. While there have been some changes around Akron Elementary School, our mission stays the same: TVSC is committed to student success through the development of character, leadership, and literacy. Our academic emphasis is on the state standards, but as a staff, we are committed to the vision of doing whatever it takes to equip all students to be outstanding – today, tomorrow, and beyond.

Our goal is to build a learning community where students feel safe and engaged. Our teachers put together lessons that get students actively involved in their own education. From lessons that build a love for reading to hands-on math activities to Project Lead the Way STEM, we have it all!

I feel blessed to be part of a school community where students, staff, and parents build genuine relationships focused on the success of all students. It truly takes a team effort to help students realize their full potential. We are here to encourage students to work hard, to challenge them when needed, and to celebrate with them when they succeed! Parents, thank you for your continued support. Our staff values parental involvement. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

I am so excited to get to work with each of you throughout this school year. I am proud to be an Akron Flyer! I love this school and this community!
